Weekly Roundup

1. This week I spent a lot of time on the couch watching Oprah and getting this blog looking and feeling the way I wanted. Not to mention, Geoff was away so I had extra alone time at home. Pretty pleased with the result, but it will be a work in progress for awhile.

2. I finally bit the bullet and bought the Orla Kiely "Pattern" coffee table book and it is divine. I love her so so much and this book is gorgeous.

3. Sometimes there is just a lot of time to kill when you are waiting to pick up your Mom for a lunch date and shopping. Tuesday was just a busy day with the tree guys hacking down our backyard so we headed out to browse our local Anthropologie and have lunch.

4. BJ's mini pizza with stewed tomatoes and green bell peppers. This has to be one of my favorite lunch spots because you can get a small pizza and a decently sized salad for $6.95!

5. After a few days spent apart, long days at work and the Great Rat Disaster (it was traumatizing!!! it gets a name!), Geoff and I finally got a day off to run errands and spend some time together and the boy bought me this pretty bunch of flowers. Love him.

Rain, rain, go away!

Shirt- Forever 21, Jeans- LC Lauren Conrad, Boots- Forever 21, Necklace- Target, Watch- Burberry

These are the first "outfit" shots for the blog! I had to convince the boy to take them, fight the rain that was coming down and not step on any snails in the yard. Work in progress, I guess. Be forewarned, almost 5 out of 7 days of the week when I am not in work clothes, I am wearing stripes! I don't know when or how I acquired so many, but I just gravitate towards them! I love the weekends when we don't have many plans but really get stuff done. We have already folded laundry, did the dishes, hit the bank and Starbucks and did our weekly grocery run. I have to work later tonight and right now we are just catching up on the DVR (Glee Rocky Horror!).

Happy Halloween!

Today kicks off Halloween weekend. Tomorrow near my work is a big costume contest (including pets!) and I am sure there will be some sort of drinks or going out on sunday since I actually have an evening off! I don't think there will be costumes this year though, which is sort of disappointing, but it just doesn't seem like there is enough time to pull anything together. Scary movies and pumpkin pie seems just fine to me!!

From our visit to the Pumpkin Patch.

Finished result... Geoff's Toyota logo, he cheated and used an electric pumpkin carver!!! My Cat, which is not very cat like at all!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Terrible, no good, very bad day!!!

AHHHH!!!!!

Today, is just one of those days, where I had no time for anything and everything feels like it is going wrong!

- Couldn't sleep at all last night because there was a creature eating and scratching and running around in our attic
- I got the day off to get dressed up, clean the house and make dinner for Geoff when he arrived home from his trip but the day was taken up with finding and waiting for an exterminator and Geoff missed his connecting flight so he was {and still is} delayed.
- But the worst.... the exterminator found not 1, but 2 dead rats up in the attic plus tons of droppings and holes we need to patch. I know I didn't hear a dead rat last night, so I am sure there are more up there and I am so disgusted!!!!! I don't like sharing my house with rodents!

All I feel like doing is crawling in bed with some tea and a magazine but I am trying to stay up and positive for the boy when he finally does arrive. Not to mention it is so windy here today and my allergies are out of control! Ready for the day to end and a better {rat free!} tomorrow to begin!!!!

Meet the boy.

Meet Geoff. We have been together for six years and have been through a lot of ups and a few downs and he is 100% completely my other half. The  first four years of our relationship I was here while he was going to school in Oxford, England so we have only really had a two year relationship like real people have. We just recently moved in together and things have never been better! He secretly likes shopping with me, loves running, cars, art and architecture. He works for the motor sport world so he works really long hours, travels a bit and becomes a crazy couch potato on race day sunday but I love him to pieces anyways! Like I said, he is currently in Charlotte, NC for work and my house just seems a little too quiet for my liking this week!

Feeling Spooky

NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in: Times Square Tangerine, Starry Silver Glitter, Black Lace

Halloween has to be one of my favorite holidays all year long! I have always gone all out in the past, but then let it slide for awhile because the boy was not a fan. Although, this year I have been slowly easing him into my favorite parts of the season! Pumpkin pie, carving pumpkins, Harvest Ale, a ghost walk around our city and now I must have been feeling extra festive at Target because I returned home with this color scheme. NYC is a very affordable cosmetic brand that actually has some good quality products. I love a handful of their nail polish colors and they are only an astonishing 94 cents! The plan is to layer the super sparkly over the orange and black to get a really pretty effect. I will post the final result when I get to wear these colors somewhere fun!

Introducing....

....me!

Hello! I'm Hayley. Twenty six. Live in So Cal. I am your neighborhood barista that loves to travel, cook, find good new music, and spend countless hours being a "real estalker". Yes, I am obsessed with all things design and real estate. It would not be uncommon, if you looked in my window to see me watching House Hunters, while searching for affordable mid century fixer-uppers in Orange County. I am so interested, I have signed up to take some classes to see if this is a career I want to pursue. This is not a new hobby, but now a real one because the 1 hour commute is getting to be a chore for the boy {more on him next post} and we have been looking for a home or condo to buy since April. Since then, we have fell in love and lost not one, not two, but three {YES 3!!!} houses in the Orange County area of Costa Mesa. So this has been not only time consuming {open houses and trolling neighborhoods every single weekend} but pretty emotional to have been looking for six months and still have found nothing!
  Anyhow, this will not just become a whiney real estate blog. I love cooking, baking, traveling, shopping, and music and planning on sharing all of my hobbies and finds for all to see. Not to mention we are looking to add a new member to our family fairly soon...... a dog! {What, you didn't think we needed a kid too, did you!?}

Welcome!

Welcome to my little space to vent! Currently, its a cold Sunday morning in October and my love is on his way to North Carolina on a business trip, so with a huge mug of coffee in hand... what is better to do then start a blog! We are about to make some huge life changes {I will introduce you to those shortly!} and thought it might be fun to share those experiences with everyone! So welcome, have fun getting to know us!!
