Warmth

Flutter Sleeve Blouse- Anthropologie
Jeans- Divine Rights of Denim
Green Clutch- Nordstrom
Sandals- Issac Mizrahi
Necklaces- c/o Ke Aloha Jewelry, Forever 21
Bracelet- c/o Oia Jules

Lately I have just been loving very easy going looks. This outfit is no exception, I am just a jeans and a top gal, sometimesI have to remind myself to break out of my shell. This was actually an outfit worn to work, then dressed up with some extra special baubles for an evening out. I love the flowing sleeves on this top, it is hard to see but it is brown with little white dots, and little fabric covered buttons down the sleeves... so cute.
This is another of my pieces from Ke Aloha Jewelry, I just love the subtle gold sparkle and the dainty little design! It has quickly become an every day worn piece! Plus it looks great alone, or super layered with other gold pieces. Neck partys are in, ladies!! Did any of you use the Ke Aloha discount code? In case you missed it, you can enter code "weekendfile" at checkout for an additional 10% off!

Currently...

Ive been inspired by these posts by Danielle and Jen and since I just didnt have time to get some posts ready for you guys today, I thought I would share what has been going on around here currently.

LISTENING TO... Gosh, I used to be such a music nut! I just lived my life around music and going to shows and heading to the record store after school to see what was cool sitting in the used bin! Lately, some (new to me) bands have been sparking my love for music again! First off, The Civil Wars... dang those beautiful harmonies! I stalk their tour page constantly waiting to see if they are coming to my town anytime soon! Next is The Lumineers, their song kept playing at Anthro so I decided to download the cd and wow, I was blown away! And I am anxiously awaiting the new cd, Babel, from Mumford and Sons. When I heard them last year for the first time, I honestly got chills. They are aaamaazing. Cant wait to see what their sophomore album brings!

ENJOYING... Life! To be honest, I don't have much time to do anything lately, but I feel like when I do I really am using it to its fullest and enjoying everything. We have been taking walks and bike rides in our neighborhood on the weekends, and heading to some of our favorite restaurants (like this photo from El Ranchito above!) for an impromptu date nights instead of having frozen dinners at home!

ANTICIPATING... Some great new blog collaborations I have coming up soon! I have to say how much I thoroughly enjoy connecting and hearing from all of you no matter if it is just a comment or an email I really enjoy the support you guys give me! I have some fun posts and giveaway and projects I just can't wait to get started on!

WORKING ON... I love my house and my creature comforts. I need my space to be full of clutter and the way I need to to be to completely be able to de-stress and wind down after a long day. Because of my crazy work schedule lately, I haven't had any time to tackle those projects that just drive a person mad. I have ran the vacuum a few times and kept up with the laundry and dishes but today the iPod is going on, and the cleaning is starting from top to bottom! I hate sitting on the couch seeing the dusty shelves and piles of junk mail... no more!

LOVING... My job! It is insane to think I go to a place to "work" yet it feels nothing like it! I love Anthropologie, all of my super great co workers and managers and I just love heading there. It has been a hard transition to try something completely new, but now I just love it! Yes, some customers can be challenging but the good totally out ways the bad! Other current loves include the active wear line from Old Navy, it is surprisingly cute and well fitting! And my new favorite breakfast... english muffin with peanut butter, bananas and honey. Delish!

OFFERING... A great deal for anyone who has thought of sponsoring my blog in August. No matter what size ad you purchase, I will give you 2 months for the price of 1! Just a little summertime thank you for being so great! Just email me soon!

Minty Fresh

Mint Blouse- Forever 21
Grey Polka Dot Jeans- AG Stevies via Anthropologie
Bracelets- c/o Oia Jules, Forever 21, c/o Stella & Dot
Sunnies- Kate Spade
Brown Sandals- Old Navy

When I first started at Anthropologie, these jeans were one of my first purchases. I saw their cute little polka dot print staring at me and I had to buy them. Since May I have worn these a handful of times and I love them! They are the softest, cutest jeans I have ever bought. If you plan on getting them I do suggest sizing down, these babies run a bit big. I have had a bit of a challenge styling them, but I went pretty big with the mint colored blouse and i loved the result. I usually stick to black on top, but this was perfectly summery! And how well does my favorite Oia Jules bracelet look with this arm party and pick up the color in my blouse!? Smitten!

Life Lately V.8

Life has been busy lately! To be honest, it has been almost 2 weeks since I have had time (or daylight) to take outfit photos. Whoops! But here is a look I managed to snap with my one free second! Chambray, statement necklace and pink pants!

A little after dinner stroll along Crystal Cove. I am making it my goal to at least go to the beach once a week! So far, so good!

The only decent photo I managed to take at the fair in between rounds of stuffing my face full of delicious fried goodness! In no particular order I had roasted corn, deep fried oreos, a corn dog, french fries, and a funnel cake. It was all pretty much bite size samples, but I still had it!

Finally treated myself to a Sunday off of work and man was it nice! The best local breakfast, a drive by the beach, and some hang out time with the boy!

Soaking up the sun in the yard while boyfriend did yard work. Thats totally fair right?

Another quick outfit snap before work! A cute Anthro blouse covered in snails!

Finally managed to get a pair of Saltwater sandals! So excited to break these babies out and wear them. Any tips on breaking them in? The box says to soak them in water and wear them wet, but that sounds silly...

A new bauble from Anthro. It is so unique, and the only one we had so I had to get it! I love it with my chambray shirt, its the perfect amount of pop!

And last but not least, this guy still makes my heart happy every time I think of him! He got a new pink blanket to carry around the house. He carries these things everywhere he goes and it is so cute.

A Little Getaway

In about a month boyfriend and I are taking a well (very well) deserved vacation. We kept going back and forth on where to go, but I don't really want to worry about plans and schedules and airports and stress. I want to just go. So instead we are taking 10 days off and driving up the coast. We have been to many of the places we plan on stopping before, but we just want to experience some new places, restaurants, and hotels along the way.

So I am asking you, my dear readers, for any and all recommendations for places that are a must see or do and hotel and restaurant recommendations!

We plan to stop in Santa Barbara to visit friends, stay an evening around Cambria (maybe a cute beach side inn), head up to Monterey for 2 days, head over to check out the Winchester House in San Jose (I have always wanted to go!) then end up for a few days in San Francisco where we will be going to the Americas Cup and spending the majority of our time. So flood my comment section with all of your favorite things and places in these areas! I can't wait to hear from you guys!

Gone Casual

Tribal Print Blouse- c/o Stitchfix
Biege Sweater- Forever 21
Dark Wash Jeans- Target
Heels- Target
Grey and Teal Clutch- c/o Madison Elizabeth
Quartz Stone Necklace- Forever 21
Nails- Topshop "Windy City"

There is nothing particularly special about this outfit, but I wore it and photographed it, so I guess I will blog it! This was worn just casually running errands on a weekday. This is the perfect example or one of my go to casual outfits. A cute blouse, a sweater, a pair of jeans and cute shoes. No fail, works every time! I look a bit more put together then I feel, and still feel very comfortable. I love the print on this top from Stitchfix, but the top is ultra sheer so it needs an outer layer. I went for a sweater, but you could always do a beige or tan colored blazer as well. I am still loving my Madison Elizabeth clutch, it just makes me so happy to carry! Since I spotted the teal in the blouse, I knew the clutch was the way forward with this outfit!

In other news a big, huge thank you to all of you who entered the Ke Aloha Giveaway. There was a record number of entries and I was floored! So without further ado.... the winner of the giveaway is Danielle Covington! Congrats! Please send me an email! And for those of you who loved some pieces and want one of your own, Ke Aloha Jewelry is kindly offering a 10% discount on all orders with the code "WEEKENDFILE".

Happy Wednesday!

Ombre & Stripes

Ombre Top- Anthropologie
Jeans- Divine Rights of Denim
Sandals- Issac Mizrahi for Target
Sunglasses- Kate Spade

This was what I wore on the 4th of July. Nothing too wild and crazy and overly patriotic, but for a neighborhood hang it seemed perfect. I love how soft this top is and the little detail in the back, makes wearing it with jeans a breeze. I might try dressing it up with a fun necklace and better shoes next time for a more work appropriate look. I also am smitten with my new Scout by Bungalow bag! These bags are super durable, waterproof, come in all different styles (literally from small shoppers to huge travel bags) and cute prints (stripes and ikat galore) plus you can even get then personalized with your monogram! I have used it countless times to lug around extra clothes, my camera and makeup to days at the beach and even just brought it with me shopping! A few of my current favorites include the Totes-Ma-Goat (hahaha) bag in Flamingo and the Hilary Duffle in Barbara Stripesand. I just love their quirky product names!

If you are interested in checking out their bags and picking some up for yourself, Scout by Bungalow is kindly offering my readers a 20% discount! Just enter "weekendfile20" at checkout!

PS- Why these photos are so orangey I have no idea, I even photo edited them but when I uploaded them looked wonky. Sorry!

Get in the Mix Event!

About 2 weeks ago, I was invited along with a bunch of other local bloggers by Shout PR, to their 'Get In The Mix' event at the OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa. The Mart Mix has been one of my favorite places since it opened about a year ago, and I am so happy it is finally getting exposure and recognition and so happy it is in my city! Their are great restaurants, stores and an amazing coffee shop and their are all locally owned and operated. Anyways, I was really happy I could get off of work early and head over to be a part of the event!

All the bloggers in attendance got these cute little name tags! I decided since it was a girly event to let boyfriend do his own thing and bring my bestie, Rachel along for the night.

It was fun to mingle and meet all the ladies behind Shout PR and other bloggers. We were served wine or beer from the wine and olive bar, the cheese shop made snacks, and they had goodies from all different sponsors. We were also given raffle tickets to enter to win outfits from BB Dakota, Willow & Clay, Matty M and more! There was even a craft table (don't worry I steered clear, I am just not crafty!) and a photo booth!

Me, my wrinkled shirt and my wine deciding what outfits to put my tickets in for. I went all in for a striped dress, but didnt win!

LuLu's was also on hand to give away prizes for spinning their little gift wheel and I happened to be the winner of the grand prize! Woohoo! I won a $100 gift card to their store and I can't wait to pick out some goodies! My friend also won a super cute purse, it looks like we had some good luck there!

The winning spin!

'Lette was also on hand to sponsor the even with delicious Macarons. I had these the week prior and I think the Earl Grey Tea flavor is still my favorite! And look at this cute tree you can get to serve them on... just too much cuteness. I am going to keep this in mind for future parties or get togethers!

Rachel and I! All in all we had a great time, and got some fun swag bags at the end of the night as well. I love my local community and want to do anything and everything to get the word out about people and places that I love and I love the Mix!

A big thanks to Shout PR for inviting us and everyone for being so gracious and fun!
