Reflective.

I didn't feel like I could post a happy go lucky post about my clothes or Christmas today.

Friday I woke up, did my normal routine, turned on the tv, and started to get around for the day. When I got out of the shower and heard the news of the tragedy at Sandy Hook I was in shock. Even though I am all the way in California, with no children, the reality of what had happened was there.

It is sick, for anyone to take out such hate and anger on children. I cant say any more then that because it is just so, so wrong.

I think as the weekend has passed, the family's of Newtown have to go on living their lives minus their friends, their colleagues and worst of all, their very own children.

There is not much we can do to make any of this better but we can let them know they are in out hearts, minds, (and if you do so) prayers.

Take some time, and send them some love.

Update- I wrote this post on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, I was involved in a shooting at the mall I work at. Around 4:30, mall alarms started going off, people started running every which way and screaming for their family members. There was a man shooting a gun at Macy's. Imagine the sheer terror people felt just 24 hours after Newtown. At the time, no one knew if people were injured, if he was running into other stores, if he had robbed anyone... we knew nothing. We had our store on lockdown, with customers huddled in the back of the store and fitting room. Turns out, the man had shot 50 rounds straight up into the air in the parking lot. He was quickly detained and the only injuries were made by people fleeing the area. It is a miracle no one got hurt by any of the rogue bullets and it is disgusting anyone would ever decide to do this in the first place. It has made me feel much more cautious, much more thankful, and understand Friday that much more.

    1. I am so glad I was in my building at work, I knew I was 100% safe. To be those vulnerable shoppers outside with no where to go... terrifying.

  6. I just cannot come to grips with what is going on. In CT today, some of our schools are on lockdown after a man was found walking the train tracks with a rifle over his arm near an elementary school. How much can we take? How many times can we say LOVE over FEAR? I just dont know.....

  7. That is just so sick. I don't know why people have to get this public vindication or something for their sickness or for their own self hate... they don't need to take it out on innocent people/children.

  8. I can't understand why this happened or why others are just making it worse. There are several schools here on lockdown right now after bullets were found on a school bus going to several different schools. It sickens me.
