black Sweater- Forever 21
Green Shirt- H&M
Dark Wash Jeans- Target
Sunglasses- Kate Spade
Bracelet- Andrea's Shop My Closet Party
I guess this is all you get when you beg your boyfriend to run outside in your jungle of a backyard in incredibly harsh light and ask him to take your photos. They were all so bad and shadowy that this is all that made the cut. Plus, I noticed I should really learn how to iron based on how this shirt looks. Oh well, my favorite part is my new bracelet I picked up from Andrea anyways! Pink nails and bring green, might be one of my new favorite combinations!
There are some other things that have been on my mind lately, and I want to open this up to you guys and maybe get your feedback and advice on some incredibly pressing issues (Ha!) that have been on my mind lately...
- How do you guys keep your skinny jeans from doing that awkward wrinkle thing around your knees?
- I'm going to go here (because no other blogger does)... What is your favorite (non expensive) brand for bras??? I swear I always see the top seam of my cup or something else weird in tons of photos and I don't want to see a thing! I want those things perky, round and seamless. Help! If you don't feel comfortable commenting, email me! I swear this has been on my mind for months now!
- Taking blog photos is (for some reason) becoming harder and harder. I think it might have to do with our camera being pretty old. I would love recommendations on cameras, or even lenses, that would be great to use for documenting outfits everyday.
- Tucking in your shirt. Some of you do this effortless, "Oh, only half of my shirt is tucked in and I still look so chic" thing! When I try it, it looks like I got dressed too quickly when in reality, I tried to tuck my shirt for a good 15 minutes before leaving the house. Give me some tuck advice. All tucked, loosely tucked, the one sided tuck... I am all ears!
usually jeans crinkle in the knee because it's got some excess fabric around the knees. the crinkle gets better if your jeans are REALLY TIGHT all the way down, at least from my experience...
ReplyDeletewell, mostly i kind of just pull my pants down every time i get up XD

HAHA me too! I think maybe I need to find ones with less stretch, but they all seem to be "jegging" style these days!
DeleteWhen you figure out the wrinkle at the knee thing, please let me know! It drives me nuts!! And as for cheap bras, you are going to laugh, but I LOVE Target Bra's. I'm part of the IBTC {Itty Bitty Titty Committee ;)} and they work out fabulously for me! Plus, I can always get them for less than $15! WHOOT WHOOT!
ReplyDeleteLucky! They have such cute ones there but alas, too small on me!
DeleteThe effortless tuck thing drives me crazy too! Everytime I try I look strange and rushed. I don't know how they do it.
ReplyDeleteXO, Joanne
I mostely wear my Marlies dekker bras, but I do'nt think those or sold in the US and I wouldn't really call them cheap either. So I have no recons on that. The tee tucking thing doesn't work for me either. Could you write a post about it when you figure it out? and maybe about the knee wrinkles too... Cause that always happens to me too! x
ReplyDeleteOverwhelming response to the tuck is that no one knows how to achieve it either! I need to send an SOS to Kendi and see if she can let us know!
DeleteThe knee crinkle makes me crazy too! I think you really just need a great, tight fitting pair of skinnies to make it go away. I find that some brands have too much stretch and they don't stay in place as well as they should.
ReplyDeleteFor bras, I'm actually really into the Target ones right now. They have some new ones in there, "Just My Size!" or something, where they come in sizes S, M, L depending on your bra size. They fit really well and I never have that top of cup problem with them (HATE that!).
I have invested in more expensive jeans like Sevens or citizens or Madewell, and I still had the issue! But I don't wash my jeans every time, so that might be part of it!
Deletehonestly, try out Macy's ... they always have a sale and they have a ton of bras to choose from!! as for the camera thing ... a dslr is what you may want ....kinda the way to go ... if you have one already maybe you might just wanna think of getting a new lens ... a 50mm can really be super great for taking photos

I love the colour of your top..it's such a fun green!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite bra is from Victorias Secret...The Very Sexy Push Up (I removed the gel padding from the pocket thingy)..it fits me perfectly!

I really only buy bras from JC Penny. MY FAVE ONE is I think by Lily of France or something, I'll check the tag (I am wearing it now!)
ReplyDeleteJCP always has a buy one get one 50% sale or something like that going on. This one has no padding or anything & is nude. It also sits so perfectly you can't see cup lines or anything. It is so comfortable too! I have a nice set of ta-tas (pardon me,) and around that time of the month when your boobs get a bit achy or if they just need a little bit more support to not flop everywhere, I sleep in it! It is that comfortable!
hope this helps! Also, I love your bracelet!
I will check this brand out, surprisingly I think I have heard of this brand before but never looked into it!
Deleteloving this green color on you girl! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have been so attracted to this color lately!
DeleteSo many things to comment on! First, I love the color of your blouse! So very pretty! Secondly, I had the same problem with bras (a line at the top of the cup would show through my shirt) and I found a GREAT bra at Winner's (which I don't think you have in the US, but I guess it's probably similar to TJ Maxx? New stuff, but discounted prices?) and it was a Calvin Klein bra, very similar to this one (in black) - http://www.cku.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2981222&cp=3001613.3001635.3001640.3001608&parentPage=family I end up wanting to wear it daily, it's my favorite! And thirdly, I can't do the casual tuck very well either. I've tried, but it never looks great! You should do an update post if you get any good answers for all of these questions!!
ReplyDeleteI think the CK bras are the ones to check out! I am going to head to Nordstrom Rack (discounted stuff as well) today and try and find this one!!
DeleteHi Hayley,
ReplyDeleteOK sooo...I think that the crinkle thing can actually be resolved by getting jeans that are a tiny bit looser in the legs than you would normally get. That will keep them from getting all stuck when you sit down. Not like super loose, just not super skin tight. Am I making sense yet? :)
For bras, I don't really know if I'm qualified to comment on this one, since most people get mosquito bites that are bigger than my boobs, BUT - I really love Honeydew intimates... they sometimes have them at Madewell. Kinda middle of the road in terms of price.
About the camera, well, I'm an iPhone/instagram junkie, which basically means I can't give you any real photography advice. I've heard good things about the canon rebel though!
Half tuck thing: I think you're overthinking it. Just tuck it in, pull a few pieces out, and force yourself to walk away from the mirror. You always look great anyways!
xo Alyssa
I always like the first tuck I do, then keep playing with it, and it never looks the same!
DeletePlease share if you figure out the tucking business! I've tried the half-tuck many times, but it always looks weird and I just give up.
ReplyDeleteI really like Calvin Klein bras. I get mine at Nordstrom Rack - my store always seems to have a bunch on hand. I've looked at prices at Macy's and even the CK outlet, and Nordstrom Rack is the cheapest.
CK seems to be a favorite.. I will be checking them out today!
Deletei LOVE seeing that bracelet on you!!
ReplyDeleteit looks sooo great with that cute outfit!
xoxoxo
It is lovely, but it makes SO MUCH NOISE!! I felt like a tambourine player minus the tambourine. HA!
