Sunday, May 4

Oh, Hi!

So its May.. the last time I posted was in March, so sorry about that! Honestly, with Instagram being so quick and easy I almost just "micro" blog what I want to put out there and bam! Feeling fulfilled!

But we have been busy, we finally put in a front yard (YAY!) so our house is about 95% complete. Its been a long project but I love that we have re-done nearly everything and made it our own!

My birthday is around the corner.. the big 3-0. Excited to start a new chapter, but sad the 20's are all behind me.

Anyways, if you want to keep up on a more regular basis add me on Instagram @im_hayley

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Woke up this morning to a sweet treat in the kitchen. Since I work tonight we were able to go to dinner last night, burgers and beer just how we would do it! Love being married to my best friend who puts up with all of my crazy.

Long Beach Flea

Every 3rd Sunday of the month the Long Beach Antique Market is the place to go. LB is great because its smaller then the Rose Bowl and full of legit sellers. I really, reeeaaally like flea markets but I have to have a need for something otherwise I wander around and everything looks like a blur. I like the hunt for something. And Sunday I scored and found something I have been wanting forever!
Um, gorgeous rugs everywhere!
Loved this great costume jewelry, I almost left with the one in the middle!
Got these 2 new beauties! Always on the hunt for great turquoise pieces!
Treasure hunting with the bestie!
A little #ootd in a vintage mirror!
I aware this guy went through my moms garage and stole these from me! Remember sticking patches and writing in Sharpie on your Jansport?!
Cute neon signs and letters are everywhere!
Lunch at Simmzy's, one of my favorites!
My find of the day! A vintage standing globe! It matches the feet on our danish furniture perfectly!

Around the Bay

I know I shared most of the wedding photos with you guys a couple months ago, but I realized I never shared any of the staged photos we took around San Francisco afterwards! It was the MOST gorgeous day, it almost was too sunny and beautiful to get great outdoor shots but with our friends and some champagne in tow we made an afternoon out of it! You can click HERE to see all of the other wedding photos as well.

I mean where else would a bride go get a snack on her wedding day? In-n-out of course!

Palace of Fine Arts

Fort Mason

Baker Beach

Lombard Street

Okay, thats it… I promise!

Happy New Year!!!

I know this might be rubbing it in to some of you in the East… but I spent my new years day basking in the sunshine along the coast. We hopped in the car, ate a delicious breakfast and headed south on PCH and just drove! We visited the little antique stores in San Juan Capistrano (scored on some indian printed blankets for super cheap!), visited the pier in San Clemente and ended our day at an oceanfront bar in Laguna for some sunset and grub. I loved every minute of that day, not a bad way to ring in a new year, especially after spending the entire previous week recovering on the couch.

We ALSO are working on knocking off some of those resolutions of mine, and we are headed to Cambria next month! We want to see and do some new things in the area (possible side trip to Paso Robles and Solvang), do you have any recommendations? We have always stayed at the Lodge, but are looking to visit somewhere new! Let me know in the comments if you have any ideas.

caught the sickness

Let me tell you, this stomach bug is no joke! I woke up Monday sicker then I have been forever. I eventually went the urgent care around 2pm because I couldn't keep anything down and they sent me to the ER. NowI have never, ever been to a hospital before and I had to get poked and prodded and lay for hours while people came in with broken feet, and getting their head stapled. Not really how I wanted to spend my Christmas Eve Eve!! The Doctor couldn't figure it it was food poisoning or the flu but it is not fun. So its Christmas Eve and I am on a smart water and toast diet, watching The Holiday and not sure if I will be in attendance at Christmas functions. Bah-humbug.

I forgot to write this before, but on top of ALL of this I am supposed to have sinus surgery first thing the day after Christmas! What a week right? I have never had a surgery before except for like, a pulled tooth! So it might be quiet around here for a bit but ill be back!

Hope you all enjoy your Christmas!
Stay Healthy!

Holiday Reflections

Merry Christmas, y'all!

I feel like its been forever since I have really been "checked in" over here! I've posted here and there, but this has been a busy year for us! Between adding on to our house, getting married, changes in jobs and just living life I haven't been to dedicated to this little space. To tell you the truth, it felt like another job I just didnt have time for. If you would have asked me 2 weeks ago I would have told you I was going to write my swan song and say goodbye.

But then I got looking through my archives and remembering why I have consistently had a blog my entire life (livejournal, anyone?) I love having the documentation of everything! And to be honest, I don't have much documented from his year. I thought about leaving this space and creating a new one with less pressure (I feel like I am letting the 3001 of you down who subscribe to this little space. and yes, I looked today, thanks for sticking with me!) but I didnt want to loose all of that hard work I DID put in here.

So 2014 is going to bring a new look and a new way of blogging. This is going to become more of a space to just write and share, and I will have a tab for you to visit that I will update with links to all of the outfits and things I am wearing or currently obsessed with so you can find it and shop it as well. Less pressure to post, and just more fun. I hope you will all stick around and see where the space goes!

And if you are in the area and haven't gone already, get yourself a hot chocolate and a hippo cookie and take a stroll around Balboa Island to see all of the gorgeous homes and boats decorated to the nines! It is by far my favorite thing to do each year. Lewis loves it too.

San Francisco City Hall

After the Ceremony we stayed around City Hall to take really take in the beauty of the building and capture some amazing photos. This is just a handful of some of the amazing shots we were able to capture...

This is the one I will be framing in our house!

My favorite shot of the day of my look. I will always treasure this entire simple look.

I love all of the realness in this photo. Messy hair, people walking by... this is SF!

Groom and Best Man.

Grand Staircase inside the building.

One of my favorites from the day. Iconic City Hall doors.

So cute.

Every corner we turned had another amazing spot for photos. I loved this intricate staircase and marble walls.

Where we got married... we couldn't have found a more beautiful building or more perfect day.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!

This year we haven't gotten too into the halloween spirit because of work and life getting in the way but we did manage to carve a cute owl pumpkin with our neighbors the other night! Today I will be finally heading out to buy candy (I would have eaten it for days if I bought it earlier!) and handing it out to all the trick o treaters in our neighborhood!

Have a fun and safe night!!

The Ceremony

Today I am sharing with you a few snaps from our ceremony at San Francisco City Hall. We rented the  Mayors Balcony and it was one of the best spots in the house. Even though there were other weddings going on in the building I dont' even remember seeing anyone else!

On our way! Look at all that sunshine we were blessed with!

Waiting to walk down the aisle. So stinkin cute.

There was no traditional "music", since it is a working building but I was still able to have a nice little entrance.

Walking down the aisle with my dad was hand down the best part

Rings

View of our Ceremony. Look at this building! Its breathtaking!

This might be one of my favorite ceremony photos... so sweet!

Done and done!!!

Our besties signing as our witnesses.

One of my favorite little guests had to come check out what was going on!

Its not official until its on the internet... time to Instagram!

Best day ever!

Next week I will share some of the professional photos taken around City Hall and some of our favorite spots around SF.
