Long Beach Flea

Every 3rd Sunday of the month the Long Beach Antique Market is the place to go. LB is great because its smaller then the Rose Bowl and full of legit sellers. I really, reeeaaally like flea markets but I have to have a need for something otherwise I wander around and everything looks like a blur. I like the hunt for something. And Sunday I scored and found something I have been wanting forever!
Um, gorgeous rugs everywhere!
Loved this great costume jewelry, I almost left with the one in the middle!
Got these 2 new beauties! Always on the hunt for great turquoise pieces!
Treasure hunting with the bestie!
A little #ootd in a vintage mirror!
I aware this guy went through my moms garage and stole these from me! Remember sticking patches and writing in Sharpie on your Jansport?!
Cute neon signs and letters are everywhere!
Lunch at Simmzy's, one of my favorites!
My find of the day! A vintage standing globe! It matches the feet on our danish furniture perfectly!

Happy boots

Boots- Sam Edelman Petty Boot in Python

These boots make me happy. They were hard as hell to track down, and I don't wear them enough, but when I do I am in love. Is it weird that I consider them a neutral? Its completely fine in my book to pair them with olive green moto ankles and a pink kimono. Love it.

Maybe pick up a new item for winter, put it towards a new gadget or even surprise someone else with a thoughtful gift! The Shops at Mission Viejo  is my local favorite Simon Mall, so I would perhaps pick up a cute new sweater from Zara or a present for the husband on the mens department at Nordstrom!

Meow

I wore this incredibly soft and fuzzy sweater the other day and my Husband said I looked like a kitty cat. I can't get that thought out of my head now every time I reach for the sweater! I posted this photo on Instagram and everyone had to know where it was from (I even overheard a woman saying "look at that sweater…..." when I walked by) its a good one, ladies. I can't even tell you the number of times I got randomly pet by my friends! So I'm here to share…

Hat Game

Anthropologie has really been stepping up their hat game recently.
I have always been fond of hats, but embarrassed to be a daily wearer of one. Until lately. Fall is the perfect time to cover up and break out all of those fun accessories.. hello, scarves and gloves!
The one in the middle is a favorite from last year, with a cute bow and sweater texture on top. Thankfully, Anthro is releasing a new grey one this year! The other two I have recently added to my collection. I love the green rancher style with more of a structured top and sturdy brim, plus the little leather detail is perfect for fall. And the burnt orange one can go with almost everything, and transition into the summer months as well.

Check these out and similar styles below...

Summer Road Trip Style

Earlier this month The Shops at Mission Viejo contacted me to visit their mall and find an outfit that would be perfect for a summer vacation. Well, being the California girl that I am, summer vacation to me screams road trip! Within a two hours drive to you can find yourself in sunny Palm Springs or cool Santa Barbara, which are two of my favorite spots for 24 hours of fun! So I knew I needed something that was great for either climate, had simple accessories and could hold up to the time in the car and time on my feet exploring!

As for accessories this summer I am loving very 70's inspired pieces. I found these round sunnies at Forever 21, where you can find a plethora of different styles, shapes and colors of shades for just around $5. This particular Forever 21 is massive so I promise you, finding great accessories is a snap! As for this necklace, I am still on my turquoise kick (i just cant get enough!) so the BP department at Nordstrom had this one for around $20 and its the perfect simple piece to wear day or night! I love to shop Nordstrom to mix the more expensive pieces from TBD or SAVVY with the less expensive on trend styles you can find in BP!

I had been on the hunt for an updated denim jacket and found one at Zara that was perfectly slim and distressed. It didnt hurt that they also had their sale going on so this piece was a steal for $50! I think this is the perfect traveling piece because it just looks and feels better with wear and will go with anything! The Zara in Mission Viejo is my absolute favorite, they always have a great selection of sale items and super friendly customer service! Similar here and here.

I think in the summer you cant go wrong with a white lace short! This pair by Dolce Vita are perfect paired with simple denim, or dressed up with heels and a blazer for evening! These came to mind and were what I wanted to build my Road Trip outfit around! Lucky for you, they are currently on sale here!

I think a clutch is perfect for a road trip because you can use it to store your makeup and things you might need to travel with, but empty it our and use it as an evening bag. I have had this beaded one forever and it is still one of my favorites! When traveling, remember to keep your key pieces simple, but use accessories to add color and print to change up the look of an outfit! Either of these will work to get the same effect!

Of course you think sandal in the Summer, but I want to be able to wander, shop, eat and explore and stay comfortable! I think the next best alternative is a crisp, white shoe! Nothing is more classic then a pair of white Converse, also from Nordstrom! For $45 you can find these in tons of colors, but for me white is the way to go! Department stores always have the best selections of shoes and the Mission Viejo Nordstrom is no different! And with their Anniversary Sale going on now, I bet you could find another pair to stash away for a quick outfit switch!

So now you know what my road trip look would look like, how would you style yours?
Visit The Shops at Mission Viejo on Twitter or Facebook!
Or if you find yourself in the area, stop on by for an afternoon of shopping, eating and fun!

Anthropologie Bag Obsession

Its no surprise that I love Anthropologie. And its no surprise that I love a good bag. For the past year I have been living in a basic brown leather bag that works with nearly everything. But lately I am loving all of the amazing options at Anthro! Big or small, inexpensive or pricey, from a weekend road trip to a wine night with friends... there is a bag and an option for everyone (and everywhere!).

Above are some of my must buy, most favorite bags that we have right now! I love that we are getting in brands like Star Mela and Cleobella because their bags are to die for!! And I am not going to lie... I might already own two of them!

So which is YOUR favorite?
What type of bag do you use everyday?

Wardrobe Updating

Last week the Simon Mall Group sent me out on assignment to The Shops at Mission Viejo to update a piece in my wardrobe. I thought about this task a bunch last week because with all of the Spring Cleaning I have been doing, I have been getting rid of a ton of things I no longer wear or need. I also took the opportunity to transition heavy coats to the back of the closet and started getting ready to grab for strappy dresses and shorts as Summer is approaching! I wanted to keep an eye out for something that needed to be replaced or might be out of style to get rid of as well. Some items I really paid close attention to were...

Sunglasses... Are they out of style or scratched on the lens?
Denim... Do I have a well fitting, classic pair of denim I can dress up or down?
Sandals... something that gets a ton of wear each year, I always love to get a new pair before the weather gets too warm!
Tunic... Do I have something easy to throw over a swim suit or add a cute wedge to? The go to piece for the entire summer?
The Perfect T... This can be everything! Once you find that tee that fits like a glove, that you want to wear all the time you should stock up. I have been on the look out to add more and keep looking for that perfect one!

Loving this dip dye/ombre trend! Cant wait to wear this with some cutoffs and some delicate layered jewelry!
A silky tunic with an embroidered pattern! A throw on with sandals and go type of piece thats great for warm weather!
A lightweight sweater with a little studded detail. Will go with nearly anything in my closet!

While shopping I focused my attention at H&M. This particular locating in Mission Viejo is one of my favorites because it is huge, clean and organized and has everything from womens, mens, kinds, lounge and jewelry! They had tons of great inexpensive, distressed denim (which I am loving right now!). They have their Organic Cotton line which feels so great and soft on and they have great on trend accessories.

I also really love the Nordstrom at this location! The girls at the BP section are so nice and they had a ton of flowing midis, maxis, high lows and whatever else kind of skirt you would be looking for in all of Springs best colors! I also love their selection of Free People as well, they have some items I dont always see at my local store!

Thanks again to Simon Malls for sending me out!

Spring Style Picks

A few weeks ago the Simon Mall Group sent me over to The Shops at Mission Viejo to check out their selection of stores and find some of my favorite picks for Spring Fashion!

Armed with a gift card and an open mind, I checked out stores like Lucky, Nordstrom, GAP, Zara, and Fossil! I was attracted to these stores this season automatically because of their vibrant and colorful clothes calling my name and begging to come home with me! Wanna see what made the cut? See below!

Colorful denim really took off last year, but I feel like it is back this year with a vengeance. You can get them in any style these days from cropped to straight leg to ultra skinny and in just about any shade you can think of! I loved the rainbow of denim on display at the Fossil store. It made it easy to see their selection and imagine all the options!

Over at Zara I kept seeing the combination of coral and army green and it was really speaking to me! I loved this striking combo together in vibrant prints or just in solids! I loved the mix in of an army print or a graphic that still kept in the same color family! These pieces are so versatile and can be remixed in the warmer and even colder months!

Another thing I spotted at Zara, Nordstrom, and all over was soft and girly white tees with sweet little embellishments. It could have been a little embroidery, a bit of crochet, or even a cute flouncy hem or ruffle, I spotted it everywhere and in all styles, sizes and prices! Nothing says the weather is getting warmer then wearing white on a sunny Spring day!

Again, I am forever loving scarves. These ones spotted at H&M were long, a little worn in looking and came in great prints that you could wear with just about anything! I loved that they were a bit heavier cotton that would keep you warm and could also double as an impromptu blanket if you had to go to a spontaneous picnic!!

Personally, I think that a GREAT pair of sunglasses should be pretty much be your go to accessory all year long but especially when the days get longer and that sun stays out!! I decided to splurge over at Nordstrom in their Designer Sunglasses section to check out some styles I have been looking for forever! Two classics that you just cant go wrong with are a Wayfarer or an Aviator. I loved this pair from Kate Spade (she makes killer sunnies!) and these super classic Ray Bans! So what do you think I ended up getting?

Drumroll....
The Kate Spade Aviators!

I have been looking for a pair to fit my face forever and when I put these on, it was perfection! Thanks again to the Simon Mall Group and The Shops at Mission Viejo for the opportunity and letting me visit all the great shops there!

Tips on Shopping Your Own Closet!

These days, there is so much temptation out there to shop, shop, SHOP! There is always a new trend to try, a new color of the year, a new wash of denim you just have to have. And while shopping can be so  fun (and oddly rewarding) it can also result in over stuffed closets, having things you don't even want, and over spending!

So I decided to challenge myself, and I took this month, February, to try and rein it in a little and not bring in any new clothing items! Thinking it would be easy, temptation is everywhere and I didnt realize how much of my life is spent around pining- and pinning- over items to add to my wardrobe. So for those of you who have taken on the same challenge, I compiled a list of tips to hopefully make it easier to resist and hopefully find new says to shop the items you already have!

- Delete those email that retailers flood you with! Don't even open them! A special 30% off isn't going to woo me in your store, mister!

- If you love fashion magazines but find them to be tempting, try storing them away for the new month, don't read them right away or the temptation to look for those items might be to strong!

- If you MUST go shopping, go money free! Window shopping can still be fun, and you wont have the urge to get anything because well, you cant!

- Get a garment rack or hang some hooks outside of your closet. Pull out 10 or so pieces you want to try wearing or love to wear and work on making outfits from those.

- On the flip side, maybe pull out 10 or so items you haven't worn forever or that have been hiding in the back of your closet and wear those. If they are STILL on the rack after this month and you didnt wear them then, then you probably will never.

- Organize! Arrange your pants by color, print, wash and fancier pants. Arrange your tops by color, by style or by casual to dressy... make it easier to see what you have!

- Challenge yourself! Don't wear many dresses? Wear dresses for a whole week!

- When you see something you just HAVE to get...WAIT! Go home and take a day to think about the item! Still on your mind? See if there is anything in your closet that could substitute for that item! More then likely... there is another striped shirt that could look kinda like that new striped shirt... (guilty!).

- This is a great time to sort as well. I always do Keep, Sell, Donate. I pick a section in my closet and try the items on. I look at the fit, the style, the feel and what I really think about it. If I love it, it stays. If the fit is off, I see if it is something I could sell. If I don't like it, and its a less expensive item, I donate it!  Often times I do this for an hour or so with some music playing and its fun! Don't try to do the whole closet at once, that is too overwhelming!

- Do a clothing swap with your friends! Your not shopping... and you are still getting rid of things you wont wear. Possibly swap out more then you bring in, and make sure it is things you really love before you take them!

If you have some other tips, leave them in the comments below! I would love to hear your ideas!!
