Olive Juice

Pink Sweater- Forever 21
Navy Skinny Pants- Forever 21 Signature
Cherry Red Sandals- Target
Floral Silk Scarf- Target
Maroon Handbag- Urban Outfitters via Andrea's Shop My Closet Party
White Rose Gold Watch- Fossil
Sunglasses- Forever 21

Knowing this months challenge for Everybody, Everywear was red & pink, I immediately started putting together combinations in my head for what I could pair together. Looks like my closet is really lacking red and pink items. Every time I put something on boyfriend said "Well, that is more purple.", "No. That is for sure peach.", "Those are more burnt orange then red." Humph! So I decided to stop trying to pair just two solids, and decided to use the colors together and see what I came up with. I loved this look, it looks chic and sweet, all things that are perfect for Valentine's Day! Plus this silky scarf has been hiding under my bed forever waiting to make its appearance on the blog. I found it at an obscure Target and paid about $4, but I love the vintage quality it has!

I hope everyone has some fun plans for this evening with your loved one! Hopefully boyfriend will come home from with with a surprise or two! I know we will be staying in tonight, cooking and hanging out at home. Maybe a trip out for some frozen yogurt! We went out and had a great dinner Saturday at my most favorite restaurant ever, Maggiano's so I am perfectly okay with an evening at home! Happy Valentine's Day!

In the Right Frame

Tweed Coat- Forever 21
Black Infinity Scarf- Forever 21
Black and White Striped Sweater- H&M
Skinny Jeans- Madewell
Riding Boots- Forever 21
Glasses- c/o GlassesUSA.com
Watch- Urban Outfitters

I remembered it was a new EBEW this week and so I let that decide how to put together my outfit this past weekend. We still don't have any closets so our clothes are all over the floor. When thinking of a black and white outfit, none of these particular pieces came to mind, but the ones I wanted were buried under boxes and piles or clothes that I had forgotten about! Like this gorgeous little swingy coat! It is so soft and light weight and the color of that lining just kills me! I love an unexpected detail like that. I went to go reach for my go-to black boots and sadly remembered I tossed them in a fit of box-packing, "we have too much stuff" rage. Oh well. They had so many holes and cracks... but I loved those boots! RIP Old Navy Black Boots! You will be missed, but now my toesies wont get wet in the rain!

Also, this is the first official photos of my new glasses from Glasses USA. They contacted me to try out a pair and since I don't buy glasses very often I thought it would be a fun challenge to try something new! I loved that they have a virtual try-on mirror for all of their eyeglasses (which I used numerous times) but I had the hardest time narrowing it down! I decided to go for a larger, tortoise shell colored frame with my prescription glasses. It has taken some getting used to since they are so large, but they are fun and something different to change up my look. My only suggestion for you if you are going to buy a pair, is to spring for some type of anti-glare on the lens itself. We had the hardest time photographing these and they caught the sunlight from every car and sparkly thing we passed!

If you are looking for some new glasses yourself, they are offering you 20% off ANY pair of glasses and FREE US SHIPPING with the code: NEW2012 So what are you waiting for? Go check some out!

Adding Sparkle

Having this blog has definitely helped me think outside the box when it comes to my personal style. I love the sequin and sparkle trend that is all over right now, but I can't help but think that if I wore a bright glittery dress, I would look like a gigantic disco ball! Instead, I want to share some of my favorite sparkly items from my closet that I wear to feel a little more dressed up around the holidays!

These multicolored sequin flats have got to be at least 5 years old, but they ad the best pop of color to an otherwise drab tee and jeans or all black outfit. Think of it as a statement shoe, instead of a statement necklace!

A gorgeous necklace that belonged to my Grandma, that I really never appreciated it until recently. I love that it has a bit of sparkle, and a bit of vintage charm.

This shift dress ads sparkle without being too over the top. It has a very 1940's quality and is perfect with black tights and heels. Maybe my New Years outfit for this year?

A dainty gold scarf looks surprisingly polished and put together when paired with a black blazer. This is an older piece from the Gap, but still manages to be current and trendy today.

This little cocktail ring is incredibly affordable and the prettiest shade of blue. It is perfect for winter because it kinda resembles a snowflake!

Crimson and Clover

Sweater- H&M
Top- Forever 21
Shorts- Old Navy
Shoes- Target
Watch- Fossil

Doesn't everything about this outfit scream Joan Jett? I swear I couldn't get this song out of my head all weekend. It might have the crimson stripes or the clover like flowers on my blouse, but I don't want to be captain obvious here. All I know is that when I saw these little shooties on sale at Target last week I squealed with delight. Only $9 and I got a cool pair of heels! And I know they are comfortable because I have see them on bloggers feet everywhere! I knew I wanted to pair something with this sweater for the pattern mixing Everybody, Everywear challenge because what looks better then stripes mixed with just about anything? Sheesh, I even have a whole Pintrest board dedicated to all things striped! And don't even get me started on elbow pads. Swoon! I didnt even need a red and white sweater but when I saw the camel colored leather pads, I was sold. 100 degree weather didnt even stop me!

Hello Sunshine

Dress- Forever 21
Belt- Forever 21 (came with dress)
Shoes- Payless
Clutch- Buffalo Exchange
Jewelry- Forever 21, H&M (bracelets), Edor Jewelry (necklace), Claire's (earrings)

When I heard that this months Everybody, Everywear challenge was to wear yellow, I immediately was hesitant. Then a few seconds later I remembered this dress I bought (and couldn't pass up), but have yet to wear. I also remembered this clutch that had been left behind at my parents house from when I moved (smart right?). Paired together, I thought I was going to nail this yellow challenge out of the ballpark. And not only was I pleasantly pleased with this outfit, I was thrilled!

I can't even begin to describe how ultra feminine I felt in these light, fun fabrics, all in light and bright colors. This dress is actually so breezy, I had to wear a slip. Paired with the cute bow detail on the heel and some bright pink lipstick... I was feeling totally girly. To keep it slightly edgy and add a bit of pop, I left my hair bone straight and piled on some fun bracelets. Honestly guys, if I could wear this outfit everyday I probably would. I think you guys would catch on rather quickly though... you smart cookies!

June Gloom

Sweater- Forever 21
Lace Shell- Cotton On
Undershirt- Hanes
Jeans- Citizens of Humanity
Shoes- American Eagle via Payless
Necklace- Forever 21

Lately, the mornings have been really long and dreary and the afternoons have been warm and sunny. This makes it hard to stay dressed in the same outfit throughout the day. I think I must have been inspired by the gloomy June colors outside my window when I got dressed today. All I thought of to dress up this lace top was various shades of grey for the Everybody, Everywear challenge. I don't really love lace, so I decided to play it up with mixing different patterns and mixing fancy with casual. I didnt even really realize that I barely own any lace items and it was too cold for this navy lace dress that I do have and like, so I had to work with what I had! I ordered this necklace around my birthday and I love it! It reminds me of a vintage costume necklace you would see in antique stores. It also perfectly matches my nail polish which is also sweet and light pink.

Pretty in Pink

Jacket- Nordstrom
Dress- Forever21
Leggings- Forever 21
Sandals- Issac Mizrahi
Necklace- Urban Outfitters
Bracelet- H&M

This is what I wore for Mothers Day... Floral! I remembered it was the next Everybody, Everywear challenge and I knew today was going to be full of black polos at work so I planned ahead. Go me! I wore this out to dinner at Wood Ranch. Have you been to Wood Ranch? Well, if you haven't... they say "Hello, Welcome..." and deliver these hot, soft rolls covered in butter right under your nose. Then you over eat. But the moral of this story is that their rolls are the best and they do not hesitate. I love that. It is also by an Anthropologie and I happened to have a Birthday 15% off coupon (its tomorrow!) in my back pocket so I managed to pick up a cute top and a necklace I have been eyeing for weeks. In the morning we managed to cook a brunch for my mom at her house that turned out sooo good. I am still full two days later from the rolls... and the pancakes. Good Mothers Day, indeed!
